Cops' sting unearths doc's abortion racket

KURAVI (MAHBUBABAD): The state government drive to encourage women to deliver babies at government hospitals resulted in the discovery of a long-running illegal sex-determination tests and abortion racket here.

According to inspector of Special Branch of police R Santosh, Dr R Srinivas of Swetha Nursing Home in the mandal headquarters here is suspected to have conducted nearly 300 illegal abortions of female foetuses in the last five months. The police said they suspect that he has been conducting such operations since 2013.
