More abortions reported in Indore than ever before

INDORE: The district has witnessed an increase in number of reported abortions in the last few years due to online reporting and strict monitoring under Pre'conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNNT) Act.
"According to official records of the health department, around 450 cases of medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) are being reported every month while about 250 abortions are being reported due to other reasons," in-charge officer Dr Asha Pandit said.
