Anti-abortion posters targeting Stella Creasy to be pulled

An anti-abortion billboard campaign targeted at pregnant MP Stella Creasy is being pulled down amid claims the posters were a form of harassment.
The Walthamstow MP said she was being targeted by anti-abortion group CBRUK because of her pro-choice stance.
Clear Chanel, which owned the billboards, apologised and said it was taking immediate action to remove them.

Tennessee man arrested for threatening to "shoot up" a Planned Parenthood

A Tennessee man was arrested yesterday for allegedly threatening a mass shooting at a Planned Parenthood in Washington, D.C. The suspect is the third person to be charged for threatening violence against the abortion provider this month alone.
Authorities say that on August 13, Jacob Cooper, 20, used the website iFunny to post a message that said, "Make sure you tell them about how I plan to shoot up a planned parenthood facility in Washington D.C., on August 19th at 3pm."

One man was charged with threatening to “slaughter and murder” doctors and patients at an abortion clinic in Chicago. Another was arrested in connection with threats against Planned Parenthood and federal agents. A third vandalized a Planned Parenthood office in Pennsylvania, painting a Bible verse in red on a wall.
All this happened in the past month alone. It’s part of what doctors and reproductive rights groups say is a spike in harassment and threats against abortion providers. According to a report by the National Abortion Federation, for example, providers reported 21,252 incidents of online harassment in 2018, compared with 15,773 in 2017.

Police have been called in by medics attacked by pro-life abortion campaigners, as experts warn that social media has made these activists more militant.
It comes ahead of a US-backed campaign that will see vigils held outside 10 UK clinics over the period of lent, for 12 hours a day.

The walls of a Fine Gael TD’s office in Sligo has been daubed with “baby killer” graffiti overnight following the successful passage of abortion legislation.
Tony McLoughlin, a TD for Sligo-Leitrim, arrived at his office in Sligo town this morning to discover that the facade of the office had been vandalised with threatening messages and anti-abortion slogans.

We talked a lot about what was going to happen. We questioned what you were supposed to wear to go and get abortion pills. We looked up the route from the tube station to the clinic on Google maps.

The late Fine Gael taoiseach Dr Garret FitzGerald was “ politically railroaded’’ by Fianna Fáil’s Charles Haughey into agreeing to the controversial 1983 abortion referendum, former Labour minister Barry Desmond has claimed.
Mr Desmond, who was minister for health in the then Fine Gael-Labour coalition, refused to handle the referendum Bill in the Dáil because of his strong opposition to the wording, and responsibility for it was instead allocated by Dr FitzGerald to Michael Noonan, who was minister for justice.

A London MP has called in police after receiving a death threat from an alleged anti-abortion activist saying she will die like Jo Cox.
Stella Creasy said she had received a torrent of abuse since forcing the Government to fund abortions for Northern Irish women arriving in England.
