England 'Out of Step on Home Abortion Pills'

An early medical abortion (EMA), involves taking two drugs (mifepristone and misoprostol) usually 24 to 48 hours apart.
In October 2017 the Scottish Government gave approval for the second drug, misoprostol, to be taken at home and Wales is following suit. Now England is being urged to do the same.

Remove risk of jail for having an abortion, demand 16,000 medics

Abortion in the UK should be fully decriminalised, a group of medical professionals will say today in a landmark move.
The country faces a “crisis point in abortion provision” and reform of the law is needed, the president of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health, which represents 16,000 GPs, specialists, nurses and midwives, will warn.
