Young Liberals back Berejiklian's handling of abortion bill

The Young Liberals' have overwhelming backed Gladys Berejiklian's handling of the abortion bill, moving a motion in support of the Premier at their annual convention on the weekend.
After the Premier stared down a spill threat from three disgruntled conservative MPs last week, the youth wing moved a motion supporting her decision to allow a conscience vote on abortion.

Gladys Berejiklian faces great pressure from her Liberal partyroom to put the abortion legislation she supports through a proper and long parliamentary inquiry process, after the NSW Premier yesterday backed down and said she would back a possible ban on gender selection abortions.
It comes amid growing unrest among some federal politicians about NSW’s abortion laws, with LNP senator for Queensland and Resources Minister Matt Canavan backing former deputy prime minister John Anderson’s concerns about the NSW legislation.

The New South Wales premier, Gladys Berejiklian flew out of Sydney on a trade mission on Monday morning, leaving seething unhappiness in some parts of her Liberal party over the the bill to decriminalise abortion, which passed the lower house last week.
But is it actually a revolt, as some media report, or a naked attempt to forge a new front in the culture wars led by the Daily Telegraph and Sky News?
