Uganda- Voices for Health and Development empowers Nkumba University students on SRH

On May 7, 2025, Voices for Health and Development, a feminist, women-led non-profit organization, engaged nearly 40 female students at Nkumba University in focus group discussions about Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). The session aimed to capture the lived experiences of female students, informing the organization’s advocacy strategies and programming to address SRH challenges in university spaces.

Rose Mahoro, Programs Manager at Voices, emphasized the importance of these discussions in understanding the specific SRH challenges that female students face. “We don’t want to design our programs from behind a desk—we believe in reaching out to the communities we serve.”
